How to Get Here
Golden is located on TransCanada Highway 1 and Highway 95. Depending on where you're coming from, getting to Golden can be a bit different. Some generic timelines are:
- 3 hours drive from Calgary International Airport.
- 2 hours and 30 minutes drive from the Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook.
- 4 hours drive north of the US border.
- 12 hours from Vancouver, BC.
The easiest way to visit is us is by car or with a rental vehicle, this way you can explore the surrounding Parks and landscapes.

Please note: there are no vehicle rental offices in Golden. But our downtown is easily navigated on foot or by bike, especially if you use the Rotary Trail network.
By Shuttle
In winter, you can take the daily scheduled shuttle from Calgary Airport direct to Golden and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Once here you can ride the Kicking Horse Connector between accommodations, the slopes and apres activities. For more information and to book online go to goldenshuttle.ca.
By Air

Golden Municipal Airport is located within the Town of Golden on Fisher Road and is home to a variety of aviation businesses. This single runway has a single, asphalt surfaced runway 14-32 measuring at 4,519 ft x 75 ft (1,377.4 m x22.9 m) with an elevation of 2,575 feet. The runway is maintained and serviceable throughout the year but is restricted to certain aircraft limitations and daylight use only. Private charter flight options are available, including with Airble.
